Is this replacing my PLC?
On many jobs, yes: JasperNode is the controller. On others it sits alongside existing PLCs, talking S7 or Modbus to what's already installed. Both are normal.

What happens to my plant if JasperX the company disappears?
The runtime is on your hardware and doesn't phone home to run. Your plant keeps operating. You'd lose the cloud conveniences, not the control system.
Can I trust AI-written control logic?
You shouldn't trust it blindly, which is why the product doesn't ask you to. You read the change, you question it, you approve it. The honest comparison isn't AI versus a perfect engineer; it's AI-plus-your-review versus logic written at 11pm before commissioning day.
How much does it cost to build a program?
See the worked examples on the pricing page: measured AI usage from real builds, in dollars, per type of program. Short version: the programs measured so far ran roughly $14 to $45 of AI usage each.
What does "beta" mean for something that controls equipment?
Your deployed logic runs on the node and keeps running without the cloud, on any channel. "Beta" is about the platform and AI features changing between releases. For production-critical control, use the stable channel; that starts with an email about your application.
What happens to my credits when subscriptions launch?
Purchased credits carry over, and beta organisations get founding-subscriber pricing locked for at least 24 months. Both commitments are on the pricing page, in writing.
Can I buy Pro or Premium now?
Not yet; the plans on the pricing page are launch pricing, shown so you can plan around it. During beta, everyone's on Free, limits aren't enforced, and AI usage is pay-as-you-go credits.
Do I need an account to install it?
Installing is just a command and needs no account, but signing in to the node does: authentication is via your JasperX account, and there are no local accounts. The runtime is free either way, and deployed logic keeps running without the cloud.
Do you train AI models on my data?
We don't train models, and under our commercial terms our AI providers don't either. The AI runs on Anthropic (Claude) and xAI (Grok) APIs: neither uses your prompts or program code to train their models, and both delete API inputs and outputs within 30 days.
Your chats and program code do pass through our servers and those APIs to power the AI features, and our engineers may look at excerpts when debugging a problem. The detail is in the security policy, and the privacy policy will cover it before launch.
Why is the runtime free?
Because charging for it would put a licence server between you and your plant. The platform is the product; the runtime is how the platform earns the right to exist on your hardware.
