Credit usage is based on the amount of information processed. Here are some typical examples for a project with 10 IOs and 60 tags:

Credits are consumed when you make a request using the AI assistant. The amount used is based on the volume of information processed (both your prompt and the AI's response). Our goal is cost transparency. A typical code generation request for a single function might consume $2 (20 credits), while a request to summarise an entire project's logic would consume more.
